Bloomin Zoomin

To all you Baby Boomers learning how to Zoom

To keep some sense of normal life amidst prophesies of doom.

Welcome to the world of tech, welcome to high noon.

We’ve misplaced a dimension (depth), but gained a waiting room.

To all the lonely people living on their own

Trying to decipher this existential koan

Unified in spirit and connected by our phones.

Under voluntary house arrest, for what do we atone?

To all you introverted types now living public lives

‘cause I can look into your home, rather than your eyes.

There’s a constant slight discomfort that is difficult to hide.

When you can’t escape yourself on screen, it’s hard to go inside.

To all the people out there who fear they’ve lost control

Who disregard the journey and focus on the goal.

All of that unkindness in due course will take its toll

‘cause you never had it anyway, except over your soul.

To all the news presenters mongering you fear

Day in, day out, incessant, about a germ named after beer.

You need to shut the heck up; or better, disappear.

Please, start peddling something with a modicum of cheer.

It’s all a bit unnerving, this brave new world I’m in.

Self-isolate, then vaccinate and brand with chip and pin.

Is it liberty or death? Are we mice or are we men?

What happens to the Spirit with AI under the skin?

So Boomers and Millennials and Generation X

As we zoom into the future, can we slow down and reflect?

Can we mobilise technology and with nature, (re)connect?

If someone has the answer, please DM or send a text.
