Yoga and Walking in the Lake District

7 - 10 May 2026

Daily Offering

- Morning and evening yoga sessions in a beautiful converted Lakeland barn next to the cottage

- Daily walk (5-10 miles) led by local professional guides and tailored to your needs

- Ground transportation to and from Nab for the walks as appropriate

- Delicious vegetarian meals: vegan, gluten- and dairy-free options; pack lunch when out on a walk

- Wifi throughout the cottage, barn and gardens.

Please note: Arrival is 7 May 2026 from 2pm when the retreat officially starts. There will be a complementary afternoon tea, a yoga class at 5pm, followed by dinner. Guests will be able to enjoy the hot tub, a walk, or a wild swim (unsupervised). The full schedule starts Friday 8 May. Check out/departure is after breakfast Sunday 10 May 2026.

Setting

The Lake District National Park is an area of unparalleled natural beauty with mountains, rivers, waterfalls, caves and valleys to be explored and enjoyed.

Accommodation

The bedrooms are cosy, most with their own shower and toilet. However, the upstairs shared toilet is Nab Cottage favourite!

Venue

Nab Cottage: Mysterious, beautiful, quirky, historic, traditional cottage once lived in by the opium-eater Thomas de Quincy in the centre of the Lake District National Park.

- 500m from the local pub

- 3km to the local village of Ambleside

- 3km to Grasmere for fresh gingerbread and a visit to Wordsworth’s grave.

 

Price per person

Twin share/couples: £610 pp

Single occupancy: £715 (£665 small single)

A 50% deposit secures your place; balance due 6 weeks prior to the start of the retreat (30 March 2026).

 

Getting There

Windermere is the local train station. Nab Cottage is less than two hours by car/taxi from Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds/Bradford, Newcastle and Blackpool airports. Direct trains connect you to Windermere from all these airports. It is possible to arrange taxi collection from Windermere or the listed airports.

Cancellations and alterations

If you have to cancel your booking, we will make every effort to fill your space up until three weeks before the start of the retreat. Please note that we can only return any monies paid if we are able to fill your space.

In the case of government legislated travel, quarantine, social distancing and/or business restrictions resulting in this retreat being cancelled, you will have the option of a full refund less £50 administrative fee, or transfer of monies paid for towards subsequent retreats for two years.

If there are no restrictions to prevent the event from taking place, standard deposit and cancellation policies will apply.

Force Majeure - In the event that access to Nab Cottage is denied or restricted for any other reason than Covid related restrictions by any means beyond our control, including Acts of God such as flood, hurricane, landslide, earthquake, fire, or tsunami; or made such as civil or political unrest, and we must cancel the retreat, all deposits will be refundable in full, less an admin fee of £30 per booking, or transferable towards subsequent retreats for two years. Please note that we cannot refund for any subsidiary costs, flight tickets and other travel.
