Classes

It’s important to me that yoga is accessible. I intend for people to feel better at the end of the class than at the beginning, to allow an exploration and evolution of themselves through yoga and to leave with an open heart and a quiet mind.

Leela Miller is a rare kind of yoga teacher: she brings a love of detail and a genuine curiosity to the practice which rubs off on her students. Classes include not only the detail of the postures but also yoga history, philosophy and anatomy. Sequences are considered, challenging, and rewarding. Leela’s thorough knowledge of yoga and her extensive teaching experience make her classes a true joy for students who wish to progress with their studies.

Wednesday

Hatha YOGA Level 1

Online - triyoga
9:30 - 10:30 (starts 4 October)

This class is designed for those with no previous exposure to yoga, as well as for those with some experience who prefer slow-paced direction and a greater level of detail around basic yoga poses and use of the breath. There may be mindful transitions from one pose to another, or you may be asked to hold postures. You will have the time to understand the principles of moving safely and intentionally, and to explore both the technical and subtle aspects of yoga and experience the effects internally. While not a remedial class, special care is given to joint issues and injuries, and visual issues within the context of a yoga practice.

Thursday

Yoga Nidra

Online - triyoga
13:15 - 14:15

Yoga Nidra is a subtle stillness practice with profound effects for the mind and body. It is arguably the simplest yoga for anyone to do.

After a gentle transition into motionlessness, you lie down, comfortably and quiet, while your teacher guides you into a state of deep relaxation, akin to a lucid dream state. Here, you can integrate conflicts within the mind and awaken with a sense of inner and outer relaxation and calm.

Friday

The Ashtanga Hour

Online through Zoom
9:00 - 10:00

Payment for this class is donation-based through PayPal

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga sychronises breath and movement in a set sequence of postures that creates heat and develops strength, flexibility and focus. It has a deep healing effect on many systems of the body, including the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. The Ashtanga Hour is just dose you need of this powerful practice to kick-start your day.

SAturday

Hatha Yoga All Levels

In Person and online- Yogaloft
12:45 - 14:15

Hatha Yoga is an ancient system of postures, or asanas, and other practices including pranayama (breathing techniques) created as a method to exercise and keep the physical body healthy in order to transcend to higher states of consciousness.

I begin my classes by introducing a physical or yoga principle, and then apply it in practice. Some parts move through slow and fluid (vinyasa-free) sequences that celebrate the beauty and power of movement; some explore the mind through holding and stillness. Modifications are always an option.
