Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a structured style of yoga postures (asanas) placed in an ordered sequence and supported by a particular way of breathing that uses techniques which help to control the movement of subtle energy. Regular practice builds physical strength and flexibility, develops mental focus and concentration, and integrates the breath with movement to create a meditative and transformative experience. This two-hour workshop allows you to experience the power of the Full Primary Series, the first rung of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. In it, you will practice the full sequence, including the three pillars of Tristhana, namely ujjayi breath, bandhas (energy “locks” that control energy) and drishti (focal points). These components work together to make this powerful, healing practice a moving meditation rooted in the breath.

Not suitable for complete beginners. Modifications are welcomce but some experience of Ashtanga or Vinyasa Yoga is recommended.
