Late Summer Retreat by the sea: Yoga in Greece
6 - 13 September 2026
No one does summer quite like the Greeks. Find out why Greeks treasure it so much with this very special late summer yoga retreat on the exceptionally beautiful island of Kefalonia. Renowned for its stunning natural scenery, dramatic landscapes, lush green mountains, and fabulous beaches, the pleasure doesn’t end there. It also captivates with its charming, picturesque villages, such as Assos and Fiskardo, and offers opportunities to explore unique geological features, including underground caves and sparkling, crystal-clear waters. Words and pictures cannot do Kefalonia justice. The smell of pine and eucalyptus, the ever-present sea, the big, sometimes dramatic and always inspiring, sky. You have to live it to appreciate it, breathe it in; experience it with all your senses.
With this stunning nature as your home for the week, the schedule is designed to give you a range of yoga as well as plenty of space in your day to appreciate it. You’ll have your choice of a range of yoga - from dynamic to stillness practices - in which to immerse yourself. All classes are held outside in nature. All classes are optional so that you can tailor the offering to suit your needs. All taught with a sense of humour as well as the expertise that 40 years of teaching experience brings to the practice of this venerable transformational art.

Setting
Vericoco Retreat in Kefalonia, Greece, is a space designed for creative practices and relaxation. It offers guests the chance to reconnect with nature alongside like-minded people. It’s a place to stop, step back and recharge. Set within olive groves and with magnificent views of the majestic Mount Aenos and the Ionian sea, simply savouring the surroundings is a meditation.
A 120m2 shaded wooden deck, provides ample space for exploring yoga through both movement and stillness.
Guests can choose from a variety of accommodation options, either within the luxurious main villa or the smaller stylish studios and apartments, and enjoy many communal facilities - including 2 swimming pools - and areas to congregate, share and inspire.
Around the estate are plenty of quiet spots for visitors to take time out and explore, including the organic vegetable gardens, and the fruit tree grove with traditional well. The grounds are spacious enough for guests to enjoy plenty of solitary moments, yet conveniently laid out to provide easy access to all the shared facilities. Spartia beach is 300 metres away. Local facilities include restaurants and cafe near the beach, or in the village a short walk away, or if you prefer to stay within the grounds you can use the self catering facilities or take the meals provided.
A mere 12-minute stroll downhill offers you the choice of our two nearest beaches, both sand beaches with trademark Kefalonian crystal-clear shallow waters. The rocky headland provides plenty to explore with a snorkel and mask, as well as some rocks to swim to or leap from for the more adventurous types. Spartia beach offers the advantage of the local facilities for those who want to grab a drink or snack, and Thermanti offers the advantage of being secluded from the crowds as it is only accessible by foot.
Kefalonia itself is a lush green island in the Ionian, famous for it’s turquoise seas and clean sandy beaches. One of the largest Greek islands, it also boasts the impressive Mount Aenos with thick fir forests as well as underground caves and ample countryside.
