Yoga teacher and spiritual activist

So who is Leela Miller?

I began  Yoga in 1982 while working in corporate business in Kansas City. A runner for 15 years, I began with Sivananda Yoga as a warm-up exercise. I took a Sivananda Yoga teacher training course in 1986 and never looked back. I have been teaching ever since in varying capacities.

I have studied in-depth the Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Shadow Yoga systems but a lot of my insight into the practice of Yoga comes from self-study on and off the mat.

I am most known as an Ashtanga teacher. I began teaching Ashtanga Yoga in 1990 under the guidance of Danny Paradise. I love the beauty, power and serenity of merging alignment, movement and breath. I weave the precision of Iyengar alignment, the energetics of Shadow Yoga and the spiritual commitment of Sivananda Yoga into my love of Ashtanga. I believe in giving everything to the practice, but not at the expense of a good time.

I am a founding teacher of triyoga in London. I served as their Director of Yoga from May 2005 to June 2006. I set up, develop and teach on their teacher training program.

My students range from complete beginners to athletes and celebrities. I take a genuine interest in the progress of my students and great satisfaction from teaching beginners, beginning teachers and students with physical challenges. As both student and teacher, I continue to witness how Yoga heals and transforms people’s bodies, minds, lives and relationships.
